Scared

For my birthday my husband wanted to give me something special.  Somehow he came across this procedure they do for acne scars.  He looked into  it and asked me if it was something I would want.  Of course it was something I wanted.  When I had acne I had no idea the scars that were hiding under all that acne.  Now that I have the acne under control I still have the scars physically and mentally.
So, tomorrow I go in to have my scars improved.

Dr. Taylor has combined tumescent anesthesia (to numb the skin), subcision (a process of undermining and loosening adhesions beneath the scars using a micro dissector), TCA chemical peels, horizontal resurfacing to remove scar ridges, and ablative fractional laser treatments.

So, basically what that means is they numb my skin with a topical, then they inject saline and lidocaine under my skin to make it swell and lift off my face, then Dr. Taylor invented this special tool that he takes and cuts all the scar tissue under the skin, then they do a chemical peel to even out skin tone, last they go over the scars with a laser (its kind of like aerating the skin).

I think I am more excited then I am nervous.  The hardest part of this whole thing is having to apply ointment on my skin every 30 minutes during the day and every 2 hours at night.  I can't leave the house or sit next to a window cause they don't want me exposing my skin to sun.  I'm looking forward to looking like a burn victim! ha ha.

I wanted to document this process so I have posted some wonderful before pictures.  No make-up.  Scary!  A lot of people say my scars are not that bad but, to me its the only thing I see when I look in the mirror.  This is my last thing to getting over my painful past of having acne!

Its Amazing!

My neighbors have been into these new cleaning products from Norwex.  They kept talking about how great they are and how they are good for the environment so I thought I would try them.  Last month I bought the cloth and the window cloth.  I liked them.  I could use them more then just once without them getting stinky so this month I bought the Spirinet.  Its this sponge thing that is suppose to help with hard water stains.  They also have a spray for hard water stains but I figure I will buy that next month.  I tried it out and it is a miracle!  I am almost embarrassed to show the before picture because it looks like I never clean but, I just have not found anything that gets the crap off.

I just have to brag

Recently I turned 21 again!  For my birthday my husband wanted to buy me some designer sunglasses since I lost my last pair at Lagoon.  He took me to look at sunglasses but I ended up getting some cheap pair.  What can I say I love cheap sunglasses.  The night before my birthday I came home from work to a pantry that was cleaned out!  It was such a pleasant surprise.  On my birthday David brought me home some beautiful flowers (I never get flowers).  Aleecia was a big help!  I told David we need to pretend its my birthday everyday so Aleecia will help a little bit more.  He didn't like my idea though.  We went out to dinner and spent some time together as a family.  It was a wonderful birthday and I felt a little spoiled.

Slavery

A while ago my husband asked me if slavery was still in existence would I have a slave?  I've thought about it and I would defiantly have one.  It would be so nice to have someone to clean the house and watch the kids whenever for free!  I don't think I would beat them or anything like some of the slaves were.  In fact I would want them to be my friend and keep me company.  Would you have a slave?

Thankful Day

I have so many things to be thankful for.  I am so thankful for my kids.  They are my trial but they are also my joy in life.  Aleecia is so tender hearted and sweet.  Mia makes me laugh everyday.  And Eva is my little baby and always will be.  I am thankful for my husband.  He gave me my babies and he takes such good care of us.  I am thankful for my parents.  I am lucky that I have parents who protected me and loved me.  With these people in my life I am truly blessed.

Day 7

Today I am thankful for clean carpets.

This past weekend we bought a carpet cleaner.  We had not had our carpets cleaned since before Mia was born.  And if you know Mia's birth story you know why it was so important we have our carpets cleaned.  I wish I would have taken before and after pictures of our carpets because it has made such a huge difference.
